Easter Fun Day at Norwich Care Home Spans the Generations

Easter Fun Day at Norwich Care Home Spans the Generations

"Badgers Wood embraces a wide range of initiatives that benefit and enhance our residents lives and wellbeing. "
Registered Manager Anne Riches

Residents at Badgers Wood Care Home in Norwich were joined by the company’s Chief Executive Tony Stein and children from the local community for hours of Easter fun.

The seasonal event was part of the home’s association with the Friend In Deed organisation’s Little Visitors scheme.

This encourages participating parents or guardians to take children of all ages into care homes and sheltered housing to play games, chat to and spend time with residents to build long-term friendships sustained by the continuity of regular visits.

Badgers Wood is part of Larchwood Care Homes, which is managed by Healthcare Management Solutions (HCMS), one of the leading providers of care in the UK.

HCMS’s Chief Executive Officer Tony Stein was there to join in the fun, which included an egg hunt in the spacious gardens, Easter arts and crafts for the children and residents to make and do together, along with some Easter baking.

This latest community event followed the many other schemes that Badgers Wood regularly is involved in, which most recently have included poetry projects with Year 3 students at Drayton Junior School, games afternoons with Drayton Infant School and a Community Helpers Project with Taverham High School.

Registered Manager Anne Riches said: “Badgers Wood embraces a wide range of initiatives that benefit and enhance our residents’ lives and wellbeing”.

“We are very proud of our efforts to bridge the generation gap by forging intergenerational links with the community and we’re delighted to welcome local children and their parents and carers to join our residents, chief executive and staff for the Easter-themed event.”

Badgers Wood is a 37-bed residential care home, in Drayton, with its facilities including a library, retro lounge and a seaside room to help provide comfort and remininsences.  Residents also can enjoy some pampering at a nail and hair salon and there is a café that allows friends and family to spend time with their loved ones in a relaxing setting.

Badgers Wood offers a wide range of daily activities including inhouse clubs, day trips as well as its substantial involvement with the local community.
