One of Manchester’s newest restaurants which pairs Indian street food with craft beers, has proven to be a hit with diners following a successful opening month.

Bundobust Manchester officially opened its doors on Piccadilly Street in December after its owners secured £230,000 worth of funding from NatWest.

Since then the 150 cover restaurant has been popular with diners looking to try its selection of authentic Indian dishes and list of speciality beers.

This is the second offering from owners Mayur Patel and Mark Husak who opened their first restaurant of the same name in Leeds in 2014. The venture has enjoyed critical and commercial success, receiving several awards and hit reviews.

Around 10 new jobs have been created as a result of the launch, including kitchen and front of house roles.

Mayur Patel said: “We are blown away by how popular Bundobust Manchester has been. The feedback and online reviews from diners have been overwhelmingly positive.

“Opening in Manchester was the obvious next step for us as a business. We could never have done this without NatWest, which supported us with our start-up costs when we launched our Leeds restaurant three years ago.

“We are very excited to see what the rest of the year has to bring for both of our restaurants and we look forward to welcoming even more diners through our doors.”

NatWest Relationship Manager Martyn Sales, said: “We’ve supported Mark and Mayur since the very beginning of their business journey. It’s great to see them go from strength to strength with their new Manchester restaurant, which brings something unique to the city’s food and drink scene.”
