Independent bistro wants customers to celebrate the milestone this weekend

Independent deli and bistro Bretta&Co., is getting ready to celebrate its first birthday this weekend and is inviting all its friends and customers to commemorate this milestone.

The bistro is offering customers a free glass of sparkling wine when they dine at the bistro on Saturday 8 August and Sunday 9 August. With Bretta&Co. specialising in sourcing excellent European wines, you can be sure that no expense will be spared in celebrating the big event.

The restaurant opened in August last year and is the brainchild of brother and sister duo Gary and Bretta Adlen. Gary was inspired to set up Bretta&Co. after spending time in New York on a business trip and eating in the famous delis such as Dean and Deluca in the city.

The bistro and deli prides itself on bringing exclusive products to the city, such as stocking wines from the Royal vineyards in Lichtenstein, and black garlic from the Isle of Wight. Bretta & Gary also source local produce, with a 50/50 split between local produce sourced from under 15 miles away, and 50% European products to bring modern European food to the restaurant.

Gary Adlen, co-owner of Bretta&Co., says: “I can’t believe how fast time has flown by for Bretta&Co., it seems like only yesterday we were opening the doors for the first time and nervously awaiting our first customers.

“Opening a restaurant can be a scary prospect and to be able to celebrate the first birthday of Bretta&Co. is great for us because it shows we’re doing something right. When we set out to open the bistro, I knew there was a need for a place that brought together fine dining in a casual setting in the city, and the success of Bretta&Co.’s first year shows that too.”

Bretta Adlen, co-owner of Bretta&Co., says: “It can be a bit daunting to open a new restaurant. But we’ve had such a great first year for Bretta&Co. and made some lovely friends with people that visit the bistro, and we’re really proud of it.

“We have some really excited things lined up for the second year, such as new products and wines, some of which are exclusive to Liverpool and the North West, and we can’t wait to see what the next year brings too!”
