Taking place in the venue’s ‘Downstairs’ bar between June 28-30, the combination of wine and beer tasting evenings will showcase some of the world’s most renowned beverages in celebration of a decade in business.

Hosted by industry experts, the evenings will invite guests to explore the diverse portfolios, together with dishes that have been designed to complement the drinks on offer.

General Manager of Fonseca’s Danielle Youds said: “Here at Fonseca’s, we are well known for our eclectic events options that allow our guests to sample a range of drinks and delicacies from across the globe. What better way to celebrate our tenth birthday than with the likes of locally brewed and European beverages paired with a selection of tapas sized dishes, ideal for culinary connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike.

“Our monthly drinks evenings continue to be a firm favourite amongst our guests, which is why we have decided to make an occasion of it by hosting three tasting events back to back.”

Kick starting the trio of events on Tuesday, June 28 will be ‘Wines of the Rhine’ which will showcase some of the best wines from Germany, Austria and France. The evening will see attendees enjoy a selection of regional tapas dishes including Breaded Veal Steak with Duo of Cabbage, Cherry & Poppy Seed Strudel and White Asparagus. For those who want to enjoy a blast from the past, Delifonseca’s prodigal son Angus will make a special appearance alongside fellow brewer Gaz during ‘A Night with Mad Hatter’ on Wednesday, June 29. Guests will enjoy four delicious local beers courtesy of Mad Hatter Brewery, which will be perfectly paired with tapas dishes such as British Charcuterie Platter, Crispy Chilli Whitebait and Trio of Edge & Sons Sausages.

To round the events off, musician Cliff Jenkinson will arrive on Thursday, June 30 whereby guests will enjoy a refreshing arrival cocktail, followed by a delicious sharing summer platter of their choice including Great British Platter, Spanish Platter and Deli Dip Platter, all the while being serenaded by the swing singer.

Danielle added: “Now that the weather is warming up and summer has certainly arrived, what better way to celebrate than with such events, which are all about great food and drinks and most importantly a wonderful story. We are looking forward to celebrating with both new and familiar faces.”

The ‘Wines of the Rhine’ evening will take place on Tuesday, June 28 at 7:30 pm and is priced at £29.95 per person. A Night with Mad Hatter will take place on Wednesday, June 29 at 7pm and is priced at £24.95 per person. An evening of Swing with Cliff Jenkinson will take place on Thursday, June 30 at 7:30pm and is priced at £19.95 per person.
