Women In The Food Industry podcast with Stosie Madi Chef Patron of The Parkers Arms

"Make a plan, stay focused, follow the plan. It is not about being a woman, but being the best you can be and never ever give in unless you know for certain it is a dead end"
Stosie Madi

Women in the Food Industry co-founder, Janie Ash, spoke to Stosie Madi of The Parkers Arms about her being the only woman in the north of England to win a place in the Estrella National Restaurant Awards Top 100.

James Haywood from OpenKitchen made part of the interview into a short podcast where you can exclusively hear Stosie’s views on how she has found being a woman in the food industry and why she feels the industry needs more female role models. You can listen to the podcast:

When Stosie was asked for her advice to someone who is just starting out, she said: "Make a plan, stay focused, follow the plan. It is not about being a woman, but being the best you can be and never ever give in unless you know for certain it is a dead end, in which case stop and start again, nothing wrong in admitting something did not work out. On the contrary notch it up as experience. Always have an older saner friend or mentor who is in it with you, who can pick you up and nudge you forward when you are down."
