Surprise black gin could secure you a years supply of the popular spirit during Black Friday

"Anyone who makes an order this Black Friday, needs to keep their eyes peeled for this exclusive spirit, as it will be your golden ticket to a years supply of Nelsons gin."
Neil Harrison

A handcrafted artisan gin producer is creating its first black-coloured gin as part of a Black Friday competition – but buyers will only know if they have won when they pour their first drink.

Nelson’s Distillery, based in Staffordshire, says the lucky recipient who discovers the black gin will win a year’s supply of the popular drink.

Former chef Neil Harrison, who created the award-winning brand in 2016, said: “When bottling, we will be hiding the black gin in one of our white bottles.

“The taste will be exactly the same, but it won’t be until you pour your first glass and actually see the colour of the spirit that you will know whether you are a winner. Anyone who makes an order this Black Friday, needs to keep their eyes peeled for this exclusive spirit, as it will be your golden ticket to a year’s supply of Nelson’s gin.”

The company, based in Staffordshire, will be hiding the spirit amongst its Black Friday orders, made between Friday 29th November and Sunday 1st December.

Neil added: “It’s a first for Nelson’s to produce a black gin and we have really enjoyed creating it, so we are excited to see the reaction.”

Nelson’s gin range includes a London dry, Navy Strength and Rhubarb and Custard-flavoured gin. Last year, the brand launched the ‘first gin of its kind’ to use timur pepper from Nepal as a key botanical.

As part of its Black Friday promotions, Nelson’s Distillery is also offering 20% off across its ranges when purchased through its online store on www.nelsonsdistillery.co.uk.The distillery produces a range of gins, rums and vodka and releases special editions on a regular basis, many of which are available through UK stockists including Waitrose, Fortnum and Mason and several independents.
