Salford Credit Union appeals for financial services expert to join their board

"Its an incredibly exciting time for an individual with financial services expertise to join our team and help us take our service to the next level."
Chief executive of SCU Sheila Murtagh

Salford Credit Union is recruiting for a treasurer to donate their time and skills in order to support the organisation's next phase of development - as it improves its offer to compete with high street lenders.

The credit union is a financial cooperative that offers people who live or work in Salford an alternative to a high street bank and high cost lending, where members can access savings and affordable loan products. All money stays within the city: as the credit union is owned by its members.

The organisation is embarking on a new phase of transformation to compete with its high street competitors- from developing new loan products to improving their online customer service with a new members’ app.

Chief executive Sheila Murtagh said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time for an individual with financial services expertise to join our team and help us take our service to the next level.

“The pandemic has really shown the value of a local service that responds to people’s needs in a time of crisis - we have proven our commitment to the people of Salford and want to build on that to offer a local alternative to our nationwide competitors.

“This is an opportunity for the right person to be a part of making a difference to people’s lives in Salford.”

For more information about the role, please check out the job description for treasurer for more information.

Applicants can complete an application form and email this along with your CV to Miranda Clarke at scudirector@gmail.com - or get in touch is you have any questions.

The closing date for applications is Friday, September 25, 2020.
