A provider of business support services to publicans has vowed to “disrupt” the market as it looks to double its client base within 18 months.
ClearSky Pub Solutions, which currently serves around 350 pubs, is aiming to break the 700 barrier by autumn 2016.
The Cheshire-based firm, part of the Optionis Group, has trebled the size of its workforce since acquiring the accountancy arm of Bridgewood Financial Solutions last August.
It now employs more than 30 dedicated office-based accountants, and is poised to recruit five additional field-based account managers.
Managing director Derek Kelly said: “We believe the pub sector represents a huge growth opportunity, which is why we’re investing in staff in anticipation of a surge in demand.
“The pub accountancy market is ripe for disruption. By explaining that we’re more than just a pub accountant, and can assist with payroll, tax and human resources as well, we hope to demonstrate that we have a unique offering.”
Independent brewer Joseph Holt recently appointed ClearSky to provide HR and employment law support to its network of self-employed publicans – in addition to the payroll and accountancy services it already provided.
In February ClearSky announced it was teaming up with Power Solutions UK to slash pubs’ utility bills, and it has now introduced a money-back guarantee on its payroll, accounts and VAT returns services.
