Business leaders from Wolverhampton will be sharing the secrets of their success as part of a live event on Thursday (30 Sept) for the city’s annual business week.

Representatives from Wolves and a range of successful local businesses including leading security system specialists Thompson AVC and law firm FBC Manby Bowdler LLP will be on the panel for Real Businesses Talking Business, which will take place online.

Billed as an event hosted by local businesses, for local businesses, the open question and answer session is aimed at stimulating lively debate and discussion.

The session will allow the audience to quiz business leaders from Wolverhampton on the secrets of their success, discover how they are coping in the current economic climate and how their ideas may assist you with your own business challenges.

Members of Wolverhampton's Economic Growth Board and representatives of the Wolverhampton Business Champions group are combining to offer their knowledge, expertise and strategic vision. They will outline the views of multinational large organisations, as well as the agility and entrepreneurial vision of small and medium business.

The panel will include Thompson AVC managing director Scott Thompson and Russell Jones, General Manager, Marketing & Commercial Growth at Wolves, along with FBC Manby Bowdler’s head of new business, Liberty Group director John Wood and Patrick Plummer, owner of PRP Security.

The event forms part of Wolverhampton Business Week, which runs from Monday 27 September to Friday 1 October.

Scott Thompson, a member of Wolverhampton's Economic Growth Board, said: “The event will be a unique opportunity for people to quiz business leaders from Wolverhampton on their progress and the ways they are adapting amid all the current challenges.

“By hearing from a cross section of business owners, we hope we can inspire other leaders to build their own success stories.

“We are all proud to be part of the Wolverhampton business community and share the ambition of seeing more success stories built here, given the city’s heritage in industry and innovation. We look forward to the audience joining with us to be part of this unique event.”

Wolverhampton Business Week is an annual programme of in-person and online events, organised in partnership with City of Wolverhampton Council, aim at supporting business recovery and growth. Live events include a business breakfast at Grand Station entitled Wolverhampton: The next investment destination, taking place on Tuesday, plus a digital event about the city becoming ‘the Next Visitor Destination’ on Wednesday.
