Aberla Energy, part of the Aberla Group, has delivered a contract for Herefordshire Council, which included the design, supply and install of rooftop-mounted solar PV, enabling the Council to reduce its carbon footprint and energy expenditure.
Herefordshire Council is committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2030/31, and declared a climate emergency in March 2019, since strengthened to a ‘climate and ecological emergency’.
Aberla’s team of experienced specialists have sustained a high-level of quality over the last decade, working on some of the most innovative projects across the UK. With Aberla’s knowledge and expertise, this solar PV scheme is an excellent example of a Council allocating resources to achieve its low-carbon objectives.

This collaboration aligns with the Council’s initiative of “Re-energising Herefordshire”, as it looks to achieve its target of net-zero by 2030.
Cllr Ellie Chowns, cabinet member for environment, economy and skills said, “Herefordshire Council has been a local authority leader in addressing climate change for several years, working to reduce its own carbon footprint while leading countywide carbon reduction since 2003.
“Our new climate and ecological action plan demonstrates our commitment to reaching carbon zero by 2030 through a variety of means, one of the most important of which is continued investment in renewable energy, and we very much look forward to working with Aberla.”
