Persimmon Homes South Yorkshire has begun ground works on the site off Melton High Street, with 60 homes scheduled to be built.
The Highfield Farm development, as it will become known, is hoped to be launched in January 2020 and will offer a mix two, three and four-bedroom homes.
“The location is key,” said Alastair Hart, sales director at Persimmon Homes South Yorkshire.
“The development is located between the villages of Wath-upon-Dearne and West Melton which both offer all the amenities needed for everyday living.
“Rotherham is just six miles from the development and Barnsley, Doncaster and the M1 are all very accessible which adds to its appeal.
“We have already received a number of enquiries about Highfield Farm and are encouraging customers to register their interest so we can keep them up-to-date with the site’s developments.”
Buyers looking to move into their new home will be able to access the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme, or Persimmon’s Part Exchange and Home Change packages.
“We are working towards opening our showhome in March 2020 and are hoping to hand over the keys to our first customers in the summer,” added Alastair.
