Work on one of the North West’s biggest private rental schemes is underway in Salford.

The £53 million Dock 5 development in Ordsall, being delivered by ForLiving, will include 394 high-quality apartments for private rent, and feature a range of onsite facilities for residents including cinema rooms, a waterside  lounge and a gym.

Located less than 10 minutes’ drive from MediaCityUK, the eight-storey scheme in Fairbrother Street, has been designed by multi-award-winning architect Falconer Chester Hall.

Paul Gerrard, Director of ForLiving, said: “Dock 5 is a unique development, with luxury communal facilities rarely seen in Greater Manchester.

“It will provide the ultimate in urban living and is in an ideal location which is popular with commuters and young people.

“We’ll also be providing a significant number of job and apprenticeship opportunities, contributing further to the local community and economy.

“This scheme is the latest in our commitment to developing state-of-the-art properties across the North West, and highlights our confidence in the region’s housing market going forward.”

ForLiving is part of the ForViva Group, and offers high-quality homes for sale, shared ownership and private rent. Dock 5 is being built for ForViva Group member ForHousing.

Dock 5 is due to be completed in 2023 with the first homes available in 2021.
