Altrincham entrepreneur reaches finals of national business awards

""

Altrincham mum and entrepreneur Rachel Ray has earned herself a place in the final line-up of The Mumpreneur Awards http://www.mumpreneuruk.com an annual ceremony aimed at celebrating parents throughout the UK who manage the difficult task of juggling business with family life.

Rachel, a mum of two, set up Bright & Beautiful http://www.brightandbeautifulhome.com domestic cleaning business in 2007 when she spotted a real gap in the market for an ethical, professional and family friendly homecare business, designed for busy people.  Seven years on, Rachel now manages more than 50 franchises nationwide, employs over 400 people and has a £3.5m turnover. In the past two years alone Bright & Beautiful has also grown its range of services to include a number of specialist home care services with all team members trained regularly in the care of antiques, woods and surfaces; an ironing school and five star hotel standard laundry and bed-making.

Rachel has been shortlisted for the Boost category in the awards, which is open to businesses that can demonstrate high growth against the odds whether that be financially, business size or any other area.

As well as being shortlisted for this category, Rachel is also in with a chance of winning the title of The Inspirational Business Mum 2015, which will be awarded to the mum who is an inspiration to all women in business, and could walk away with a fantastic prize.

Rachel says: “I’m so thrilled for both myself and for all our team to have been recognised for growing and expanding in what was a difficult economic climate for anyone starting a business. I think Bright & Beautiful has grown so consistently because we found a real gap in the market – for clients who wanted a highly professional and eco-friendly housekeeping service; for our franchise owners who have a business which can earn a great income but fit within school hours and for our teams who have fair employment rights with a great working environment.”

Judging Rachel’s entry will be a panel of top entrepreneurs but she'll have to wait until 14th November, when the winners will be announced at The Mumpreneur Conference and Awards, being held at the Heart of England Center in Warwickshire. This event is open to all parents who juggle family and business, and also for those interested in taking the plunge and starting up. Tickets prices start at just £59, and can be purchased through the Mumpreneur UK website, where you'll find a whole range of resources and information for business mums
