Fun Day raises profile of Bath Cats and Dogs Home

"The amazing total raised is going to have such a huge impact on the animals in our care and the awareness raised and the increase in adoption applications is the icing on the cake."
Rachel Jones

A Fun Day and Fun Dog Show at Bath Cats and Dogs Home raised a wonderful £20,500 to help the charity rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals in need.

Sponsored by developer Crest Nicholson Regeneration, the Fun Day supported the work of the Home in providing life-saving care for animals which have often been neglected, abused or abandoned.

Rachel Jones, Head of Fundraising at Bath Cats and Dogs Home, said: “The amazing total raised is going to have such a huge impact on the animals in our care and the awareness raised and the increase in adoption applications is the icing on the cake.

“On behalf of everyone at Bath Cats and Dogs Home I want to thank everyone who attended our Fun Day as well as Bath Riverside for kindly agreeing to be our headline sponsor for the second year running. The Fun Day would not be possible without their help.”

As well as the rescue, rehoming and rehabilitation of animals in need, Bath Cats and Dogs Home also reunites stray animals with their owners and cares for those that have been cruelly treated. The charity also works in the local community to improve animal welfare and steps in to help animals when they have no-one else.

Last year Bath Riverside helped raise money for the charity by staging an outdoor screening of 101 Dalmatians.

Marcus Evans, Sales and Marketing Director for developer Crest Nicholson, said: “I’m so pleased that the Fun Day raised such a phenomenal amount. As an enthusiastic dog owner myself I can see the great service the Bath Cats and Dogs home provides for pets who aren’t as lucky.

“We are happy to support an organisation which provides care and support for neglected animals, the home takes in animals when they are in most need and works hard to rehabilitate and rehome them. They also have an amazing team of volunteers who help with the animals and make sure they have all the love and care they need.”

Premier riverside development Bath Riverside offers modern, flexible living spaces, open parks, landscaped courtyards and unrivalled views. A collection of apartments and penthouse apartments the development is located just a short level walk from the city centre.
