The new premises on Spindle street offer the collective significantly more space and makes use of one of Congleton’s classic mill buildings. Laterly used as an interior design showroom - the layout lends itself perfectly to the studio format the group were looking for.

Petra Lea - spokesperson for the Electric Picture House said - “We are delighted to have found the ideal premises practically on our doorstep. While we are sad to be saying goodbye to our first home, Spindle Mill offers an enormous growth potential as well as a significantly more modern environment.”

The Electric Picture House represents artists who are both nationally and internationally known, with agents in the USA and China and have exhibited worldwide. Their artwork is also housed in international art collections. Artists also accept commissions of artwork so if anyone has an empty space on their wall which they need filling get in touch.

“We offer a range of exhibitions throughout the year both group and solo shows, showing paintings, prints, sculpture, ceramics and assemblages. We work with lots of groups and organisations, including Friends For Leisure, Carers4All, Congleton Partnership, Congleton Town Council, Cheshire East, as well as lots of community art workshops throughout the year, working with local children, children with special needs and child carers.” said Petra, “We will also be continuing to work in partnership with Cheshire Rural Touring Arts to provide high quality, touring theatre performances.”

Congleton Community Projects, headed by Jo Money will also be relocating to Spindle Mill. The organisation is heavily involved with the local community and the majority of events in Congleton, including Congleton Food and Drink Festival, the Christmas Lights Switch On, Lantern Making Workshops and Lantern Parade, Congleton Carnival and much more. Vince Cutcliffe, the organiser of Congleton Jazz and Blues and Unplugged Festivals will also be joining the collective at Spindle Mill and having his base there.

In the new premises at Spindle Mill space will also be available to digital creatives in a work sharing space. This will allow up and coming creatives to have a base, a business address, a meeting space and to thrive in a creative environment. Places are now open for this initiative so if anyone is interested please get in touch with the Electric Picture House by telephone 01260 270908 or email electricpicturehouse@gmail.com
