Redditch housebuilder supports foodbank ahead of busy Christmas period

A £250 donation was presented to the Redditch Foodbank by Redrow Homes Midlands, which is currently building four-bedroom homes from the award-winning Heritage Collection at Romans Walk, in Webheath.

In addition to the donation, the Redrow team is also inviting the community to drop-off any non-perishable donations to its collection point at the development on Church Road over the festive period.

The Redditch Foodbank donates food parcels to people who need food in and around Redditch, with a team of volunteers working behind the scenes to collect supplies from points at supermarkets and churches across the town, and deliver to those who need them most.

Anna Evans-Kerr, Head of Sales for Redrow Homes Midlands, said: “We’re delighted to be able to help the Redditch Foodbank with their work, as they provide support for so many people in the local community.

“We hope that by opening a drop-off point for the food bank at our development in Webheath we can make it that little bit easier for local people to pop in with any extra groceries they wish to donate. We can’t wait to see how many items we collect and deliver them to the Redditch Foodbank team.

“I’d like to personally thank all of the volunteers for everything that they do and I hope that the funds will make the Christmas period a little easier for those in need.”

Laura Kyte, project manager at the Redditch Foodbank, said: “Here at Redditch Foodbank, we support those in need of short-term emergency help in our community, and Christmas and the new year are sadly one of our busiest times.

“The donation and food items collected will certainly go a long way towards supporting those in need, so we’d like to say a big thank you to the Redrow team for their support.”

Located to the south west of Redditch, on the edge of open farmland, Romans Walk, Webheath enjoys a delightful semi-rural setting. Yet at the same time, it is just 15miles or 40 minutes by train from Birmingham city centre, making it ideal for commuters and shoppers alike.
