T'is the season for giving - JTF helps charity raise over £14,000

"As the heart of the community, JTF are donating products and time into local charity groups in the hope it makes their lives just a little better, especially at this time of year"
Dionne Hicks, JTF Stoke Store Manager

Stoke-on-Trent’s JTF Home & Garden is offering a helping hand in the festive season to local charities with donations of products and volunteer time to the area.

Founded in 1979, JTF have been offering goods, discount cards, and volunteers to charities throughout Stoke-on-Trent throughout the festive season. The charities working in partnership with JTF, received help from the national value retailer, cover various causes and needs including: single parent support, mental health and local faith.

JTF are dedicated to supporting the residents of Stoke-on-Trent, directly through its retail operations and via programmes such as the charity partnerships to offer support to those in need. Donations to the charity groups are made on a case-by-case basis to meet the needs of each individual project. Help is now being offered in the form of volunteering hours from JTF team members throughout the busy festive period, discount cards for use of project purchases, and the donation of goods and products for those in need.

JTF have recently provided products and decorations to the Gingerbread Centre, a leading charity that has been shaping policies and services to support vulnerable, homeless families and those with single-parents since 1977. The mission of the Gingerbread centre is to ensure single parent families can live happy, secure and fulfilling lives. JTF have helped Gingerbread by providing supplies and decorations for a circus community event attended by patrons and invited guests.

The Gingerbread Centre managed to raise an impressive £14,960 at this community event that will go towards funding the charity. JTF are proud to have been a part of this event in helping give the venue a really circus feel.

Dionne Hicks, store manager of JTF’s Stoke branch, says: “JTF are dedicated to offering a helping hand to those around us. After decades within the city of Stoke we have witnessed first-hand the direct needs and desires of the residents and are acting to offer a little bit extra. As the heart of the community, JTF are donating products and time into local charity groups in the hope it makes their lives and the lives of those they support just a little better, especially at this period of the year.”

Since the opening of their initial store, JTF has expanded across the North and Midlands to now operate 12 value retail stores in addition to a thriving online store for customers across the country. Focussed on the philosophy of ‘buying big and saving big’, JTF customers save £1.1m per week primarily due to the chain’s stock strategies passing all savings on to the consumer based on their motto of Need it. Find it. Love it.

Work is on-going to support each charity and more partnerships are expected to be announced in the near future. JTF will continue offering their huge range of discounts to all customers that come through the doors whilst serving as the heart of the community through their support for local interest groups and charities.
