Charities, community groups, clubs and sports teams are being given the chance to spruce up their facilities by applying for a share of a £10,000 prize fund – thanks to a leading decorating and DIY brand.
Leyland SDM, which has 23 stores on high streets across London, has launched its ‘Give London a Lift’ campaign to benefit worthy groups in the city.
Each month between March and December, the business will give away £1,000 worth of Leyland SDM credit to use on a project.
Organisations can apply online each month and winners will be chosen by a team of judges.
Paul Gerreli, Marketing Director at Leyland SDM, said: “Leyland SDM is a major part of local communities across the capital.
“That’s why in 2020 we have decided to give something back through this exciting campaign.
“We have 10 lots of £1,000 worth of credit to give to deserving community projects. With everything from paint to tools, electrical wiring to plumbing parts available from our stores, that will go a long way towards much-needed renovation projects.
“Our team can’t wait to see the entries and pick our Give London a Lift winners.”
Groups can apply for prizes to help them open new premises, recover an existing building from a state of disrepair or any other project which benefits the community.
Applications can be made on the Leyland SDM website - leylandsdm.co.uk/givelondonalift – by simply providing a 200-word overview of what the organisation does, how it benefits the community and how the £1,000 credit would be spent.
Established in 1985, Leyland SDM started trading with a single store in Central London, supplying local tradesmen as a Specialist Decorators’ Merchants with paint and decorating materials.
Today the business has grown to become one of the most recognisable and trusted decorating and DIY retail brands in Central London with stores in some of London’s most prominent locations, including King’s Road Chelsea, High Street Kensington, Shaftesbury Avenue, Victoria, Streatham, Notting Hill and Clapham High Street.
