"Here at Redrow were familiar with the charitys work and wanted to do our bit to help raise vital funds. We would encourage people to come along and donate what they can."
The event takes place from 10.30am to 12noon on Friday, September 29, at Sanderson Manor, part of Redrow’s Hauxton Meadows development.
During the fundraiser there will be a guest presentation by Liz Ungless, from Sugar Design in Ely, who will give a live cake decorating demonstration in the show home kitchen.
Liz, who has more than 25 years’ experience of sugar craft, will demonstrate how to create cake decorations that look like lace, embroidery and buttons, in keeping with the Arts & Crafts inspired design of the homes at Sanderson Manor.
Tonia Tyler, sales director for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), said: “The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer. Here at Redrow we’re familiar with the charity’s work and wanted to do our bit to help raise vital funds. We’re grateful to Sugar Design for supporting our event by offering a free demonstration to help add to the fun. We would encourage people to come along and donate what they can as every donation will make a difference.”
The first Macmillan coffee morning was held in 1990 and since then it’s raised £165.5 million including £29.5 million last year alone.
The charity coffee morning takes place from 10.30am to 12noon on Friday, September 29, at Sanderson Manor, Church Road, Hauxton.
