A prestigious acting academy based in the UK has unveiled its first overseas digital diploma with Dubai chosen as the launch city due to the region’s growing talent and role in the film and TV industry.

The Yorkshire Academy of Film and Television Acting (YAFTA) specializes in on-screen acting and has established an excellent reputation of attracting top talent, with students appearing in productions for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, CBBC, Channel 5 Sky, Amazon, and Netflix.

Charlotte Armitage, founder, and Managing Director said:

“We are so excited to be launching our first Acting for Screen Digital Diploma in Dubai, following on from our hugely successful YAFTA Acting for Screen Diploma taught at our UK-based acting academy. The pandemic has resulted in huge changes to the film and TV industry. One of the positive developments is the increasing opportunities presented by online auditioning and filming. We know there is an increasing interest in the screen acting industry in the Dubai region, with an untapped talent we can’t wait to meet.”

The YAFTA Acting for Screen Diploma: Online Interactive Delivery is a part-time course aimed at taking students from beginner to professional screen actors within 12 months. Taught entirely online, and run over two evenings per week, the course has been designed to fit around participants existing work, family, and educational commitments. Students will receive Equity student membership, Royal Television Society Student membership and an opportunity to be represented by a PMA registered Talent Agency.

Ms. Armitage adds:

“If you’ve never acted before but would love to give it a try or you long to pursue your childhood dream of acting on screen, this online acting course is perfect for you.   You’ll learn directly from qualified, UK-based acting tutors and industry professionals, the skills, craft, and industry insight you need to make it as a professional screen actor.”

Audition applications are now open for the next Acting for Screen Online Diploma starting in June 2021. Further details on the diploma can be found on the academy website www.yaftainternational.com
